In-person or virtual consultations — from the expert who wrote the book on it. (Literally.)
There's a particular kind of Orange County parent who finds this page.
She's done her homework. There's probably a Pinterest board somewhere, a library book she meant to finish, and at least one potty training attempt already in the rearview mirror. She's not uninformed. She just hasn't had the right plan — one built around her child, not someone else's.If that's you, you're in the right place.
A consultation with The Potty School isn't a scripted handout. It's a conversation. We listen to your child's specific patterns, your family's specific rhythms, and build you an approach that fits your actual life — not the idealized version of it. No rigid "three-day method" that falls apart the first time your toddler has a hard morning. Just a clear, honest plan for what to do next.
We serve Orange County families both in-person and virtually. Some families want us at the kitchen table; others want to dial in from their home office. Either way, you walk away with the same thing: real clarity, and the confidence to actually use it.We work with neuro-typical children and children with special needs. If someone has told you your child just "isn't ready" — that's actually where we do some of our best work. When you're ready to stop researching and start doing, we'd love to help.
You can do this!
~ Michelle, The Potty School

A consultation isn't a pep talk. Here's what it actually looks like. Before your session, we'll send you a short intake form — questions about your child's age, development, what you've already tried, and where things have stalled.
We read these carefully. Your answers shape the whole conversation.
During your session — in-person or virtual — we go deep. We're not checking boxes. We're figuring out what's actually going on with this child, in this home, with this family, and building you a plan around that.
You'll leave with specific next steps you can start using that day. Not vague encouragement. Not a general framework. A real plan.
The Potty School is based in Costa Mesa — which means when you call, you're not getting someone three time zones away reading from a script.
You're getting somoene who lives and works right here. Born and raised in Orange County.
But, if you're on a time-crunch, we can always bring you a consultant who isn't OC-based to get the job started more quickly.
We serve families across Orange County: Irvine, Newport Beach, Anaheim, Laguna Beach, Santa Ana, Fullerton, San Clemente, and everywhere in between. In-person or virtual — whatever fits your life.
We are a team of caring parents who earnestly desire to see progress with your pottying journey. We give you the skills to help your family make progress with potty training. All of our consultants are thoroughly trained by The Potty School®, and all consultants are background checked and cleared regularly.
We serve families across the United States via in-home consultations, and have the privilege of serving families around the globe via phone/video chat consultations and our online courses and membership.
One more thing worth knowing:
The Potty School is the only government-contracted potty training company in the United States.
We're a certified woman-owned business, a California-designated Small Business, and a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise.
We're not a side hobby or a mommy blog that got popular.
We take this seriously — because your kid deserves someone who does.

You have / are expecting a baby and are wanting to learn how to start potty usage during the baby stages.

You have a toddler, preschool aged child, or a school-aged child, who doesn't have special needs.

You have a child with diagnosed, or suspected special needs and need help navigating the specific issues your family encounters.
It's not too late. We work with children from birth through age 14. Whether you're just starting or you've been at this for months, we meet you where you are.
That's exactly what we're here for. We work with children across a wide range of needs — autism, Down syndrome, sensory processing differences, and more. If you've been told your child "isn't ready," that conversation is worth having with us.
A book gives you general information. A consultation gives you a plan for your specific child. There is a meaningful difference between understanding potty training in theory and knowing exactly what to do tomorrow morning with your actual kid.
