‘Tis the season for summer potty training!

Our family just went to our first family camp and of allllll the themes they chose “Christmas in June”, which wasn’t really my favorite…because, HEY it’s SUMMER!!!

To be fair, I LOVE Christmas time. Togetherness, a little chaos, décor, traditions - but mixing that with mosquitos just doesn’t feel the same to me.

As we are in full-swing for summer home and phone consults over here - I realized that it really is the season for potty training. Our requests have increased exponentially and our team is growing, but that doesn’t mean we can’t send a little summer potty training love on your way.

Below are our top 3 summer potty training ideas!

Reason #3

Good Time to be Naked

With summer comes sunshine, and with sunshine comes less clothes.

Looking for the perfect time to potty train your toddler? Well, this summer might be just perfect. With preschool just around the corner, this summer will be a good time to show your little one how.

It's easier to have your toddler running around naked in this warm weather.

Summer is an ideal time to potty train your toddler as they play and have fun in the sun. Whether you prefer to let them play on their undies or go commando, summer allows for that diaper to undie transition. Set yourself up for accidents as your little ones play around naked this summer.

Whether you are traveling for a vacation or just a staycation, summer allows for a great deal of outdoor activities and a good time to finally jump on that potty training for your toddler.

Reason #2

Good Time to Hydrate

Constipation can pose a major challenge when it comes to potty training.

With summer, it's easier to get a lot of fluids into your child to keep them hydrated. As your little ones play and have fun under the sun, there's a need to get hydrated. This summer, toddlers are all about cold drinks and juice, ice creams, popsicles and juicy fruits. Scheduling pee time for your potty training toddler is efficient when they are hydrated and can practice. Save yourself and your toddler long minutes of waiting on the toilet seats or potty waiting for a pee!

Reason #1

Less Pressure to be “Done”

With summer comes less commitments, and what better time to potty train than now?!

With summer comes less commitments, and what better time to potty train than now?!

One of the major challenges of potty training is having to catch a poop and pay attention to all the signs from your toddler to go amidst your numerous engagements. Most jobs slow down during summer and most parents take time off from work. Potty training requires time, attention to your toddler’s cues and patience with their resistance and inconsistencies. With more time in your hands this summer, less pressure to potty train. Get out in the sun with your little one this summer, play and train!
